Motivation & Leadership Styles

Motivated staff are more productive and less likely to leave – motivation is a core people skill.

Motivators

Financial: wages, bonuses, commission, profit share. Non-financial: praise, training, responsibility, flexible hours, job enrichment.

Leadership styles

Autocratic: leader decides. Democratic: consultation. Laissez-faire: staff decide more. Style should fit the situation and team.
