Listening Strategies in Welsh
Listening papers reward calm method. You rarely need every word – you need the information the question asks for.
Before the audio
• Read the questions first
• Underline question words (who, when, why, how many)
• Predict likely vocabulary for the topic
During listening
• First play: overall sense
• Second play: target answers
• Note numbers, names, times, opinions
• Don’t panic if one sentence is unclear – move on
