Different text types signal different purposes. Spot the form first – it helps you predict tone and what the questions will target.
Common types

• **Email / message** – purpose, request, relationship (formal/informal)
• **Advert** – persuasive language, benefits, call to action
• **Literary extract** – character, atmosphere, feelings
