Muslim Beliefs – Tawhid & Prophethood
Islamic belief is rooted in the oneness of God and guidance through prophets, especially Muhammad.
Tawhid and God
• **Tawhid** – absolute oneness of Allah; no partners
• 99 names reflect attributes (e.g. Most Merciful, Just)
• Shirk (associating partners with God) is a grave sin
Prophethood and afterlife
• **Risalah** – prophets as messengers; Muhammad as final prophet
• **Qur’an** – word of God revealed to Muhammad; supreme authority
• Angels (e.g. Jibril) as servants of God
• **Akhirah** – afterlife; judgement, heaven (Jannah) and hell (Jahannam)
• Predestination (al-Qadr) held alongside human responsibility in Islamic teaching
